Snacks from Germany: Hans Freitag Noblesse Biscuits and Wafers

Our “Snacks from…” series treats you to different snacks found in the World Showcase pavilions at Epcot. Find more reviews here! Continuing our series, we head to Das Kaufhaus at Epcot’s Germany pavilion!

While I’m usually looking for my snacks in Mitsukoshi in Japan, I keep an eye out for snacks to try in the other pavilions. They don’t seem to change as much, but that doesn’t mean I have reviewed them on the blog yet! While walking through Germany, we picked up a bag of these Noblesse Biscuits and Wafers, per Matt’s request. While we’ve had these cookies before and enjoy them, it was time to review them!

Das Kaufhaus sells two varieties of Noblesse: The red bag has an assortment of both biscuits and wafers, while a blue bag is all wafers. Since Matt wanted some of both, we opted for the red bag.

We bought the bag at the end of our day at Epcot, and the chocolate became quite melty on the walk back to our car. It looks like even some of the “jam” in the flower shaped cookie began to soften a bit! Most of the pretzel cookies had stuck together, the dipped ends of the wafers became gloopy, and anything that had chocolate on it became coated in a layer of crumbs. If you plan on bringing these home, I recommend a winter visit! 😉

Despite the chocolate + heat issue, the flavor of the cookies remained perfectly fine. Both biscuits and wafers remained crisp, with the cookies having a light crumb and the wafers being light. I prefer the wafers, while Matt prefers whichever he is eating at the time. 🙂

A bag of these at Epcot does not come cheap at $7.95. especially when you can find these online and sometimes in local stores for half, if not less than half, the price. Still, these cookies remain a favorite of ours because if we need a sweet fix, we can get a variety of treats in a few bites. If you’ve tried Noblesse Biscuits and Wafers, let us know what you think!
