Siestas Cantina, the counter service restaurant adjacent to the bar, serves a variety of fare for hungry guests relaxing poolside at Coronado Springs Resort. One thing I noticed about the menu was that it has dedicated Gluten Free options available to guests with the dietary restriction. I don’t recall having seen this elsewhere on property (at least not yet). Those that in fact do have the allergy though may want to let the cast member know when ordering as a precautionary measure.
Since I had brilliantly left my “real” camera at home, I had to take some iPhone shots at the resort and brought the remainder home for the glamour pics. 😉
The tacos are made up of Corn Tortillas, Shredded Pork, Salsa Verde, Onion and Cilantro. They come three per order, and there are two tortillas per taco. The shredded pork was very moist, but there wasn’t a lot of seasoning to it. The salsa verde added a touch of flavor, though.
The white onion was raw, and added a pungent bite to the tacos. The cilantro did little to mellow the onion’s peppery kick, but was a nice addition in flavor.
Overall the tacos were quite good and worth ordering again. It was a fair amount of food for the price as well. If you’re not a fan of onion, you might want to ask for it to be left off as it’s very strong, to the point of being almost overpowering. Otherwise, it provided a nice crunch in contrast to the other elements. I’ll certainly be back to try some of the other items on the menu, and kicking back poolside isn’t a bad way to enjoy a nice, simple lunch. 🙂 Let us know in the comments your experiences at Siestas Cantina!
