We’re big fans of beer here at Eating WDW, so a stop by Brewer’s Collection during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is usually in play. While this post isn’t necessarily reviewing the beers (it can be even more polar than food!), it is to talk about the new “system” that they have for delivering the beers, and why we’ve become fans of the Beer Flights.
This past spring, at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, we stopped by The Smokehouse Barbecue and Brews to sample the food and order a beer flight. Yes, even a few months ago, the beers were served in a simple cardboard tray. Fast forward a few months, and now we have a handy numbered compass in the middle of said tray, along with a card with the beer names! This new system makes it easier on Cast Members and guests alike, expediting the lines and having a quick reference so one does not have to remember which beer is where.
We used to skip the flights and just ordered what we like, but since Flower & Garden, we realize that these are a pretty good deal, especially since Disney is offering some more interesting beers we typically wouldn’t order or buy at the store. While we both appreciate all beers, we both tend to stick to lighter beers. I don’t mind darker ones, however, and am usually the one to finish them after Matt samples. I tend to lean toward hoppier beers and IPAs. Of the 8 beers available, Matt’s ordered the Schofferhoffer Grapefruit alone on a few occasions, and I’ll be revisiting the BraufactuM Palor. That’s the best thing about sharing these flights with someone who has different tastes than you: you are able to sample all the brews and decide how to divvy them up!
Have you ordered either of the Beer Flights from Brewer’s Collection? Let us know what your favorite brews have been!
