One of the newest food spots at Disney Spring is scheduled to open soon. Vivoli Gelateria, a Florence, Italy-based shop, will be joining the recently announced lineup, according to the Disney Parks Blog. This family-run gelato shop is only its second storefront, and its first outside of Italy. It will open at The Landing.
Silvana Vivoli, granddaughter of one of the company’s founders, Raphael Vivoli, noted that she is “keeping the same old tradtion” that was passed down by her father, Piero. The company was founded in 1932 by Raphael and his two brothers, and had started out as a dairy. Raw materials were scarce at that time, but after World War II, technology allowed them to produce gelato daily.
Vivoli’s gelato is made with fresh, top-quality ingredients and utilize the exact recipes from the original shop in Florence. Their plan is to use local and seasonal products alongside cocoa powder, hazelnut, and pistachio imported from Italy. Silvana loves all of her flavors, but the one she can’t do without is their Rice Pudding Gelato.
Vivolo won’t just beer serving gelato, however. They will also offer traditional panini, biscotti, espresso, and tarts.
