2015 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is Almost Official!


It’s not much of a secret that today is preview day for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Cast Members get a run at working the kiosks, but sometimes they might not be serving all the dishes, or they open at later times than they would during the official start. Until I am able to get a full reviews up, the best way to see what’s going on is by liking us on Facebook and following us on Twitter and Instagram, as those will be the most timely outlets to which I’ll be able to share information! We can’t wait!


Two Dining Experiences Coming to Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

With Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land heading to Hollywood Studios in the coming years, we must say goodbye to the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. For it’s final year, two dining experiences are being added for guests, according to the Disney Parks Blog.

Starting September 16, guests will be able to book the Merry & Bright Dessert Party (running Nov. 6-Dec. 30) and the Merry & Bright Dinner Reception (from Jan. 1- 3), which will overlook the Spectacle of Dancing Lights. During the dessert party, guests will enjoy holiday-themed desserts. The dinner reception will feature a selection of small bites including beef, shrimp and turkey, plus wine, beer and specialty beverages. 20th Anniversary Cookbook Coming to Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

2015 marks the 20th Anniversary of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and this year’s cookbook is celebrating that fact, according to the Disney Parks Blog (be sure to visit the site for the recipe for this year’s Pepper Bacon Mac and Cheese from the Farm Fresh Marketplace!).

This year’s cookbook is going to be heftier than previous recipe collections, as it also includes 50 pages of history, photos, and memories from the past 20 years. Recipes date back to 1996 and feature dishes that represent the festival since then. Epcot Executive Chef Gregg Hannon is bringing back some classic dishes to the menus, including pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese puffs), apple strudel in Germany, spicy chicken sausage with polenta in Canada and the lobster roll at Hops & Barley, all of which will be featured in the book. You’ll also find Canadian Cheddar Cheese soup, Belgian waffles with berry compote, and bo ssam from South Korea.

The festival runs for 53 days, from September 25-November 16, and you can visit for more official information.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Treats

The Disney Parks Blog has shared a first look at the treats that will be served at this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The party kicks off September 15th, so let’s take a look at what’s available!

At Main Street Bakery, you’ll find a few treats. First up is this Monster Cupcake.

The Halloween Cookie is a sugar cookie featuring Halloween sprinkles.

Mystical Spirits of the Blue Bayou Dining Experience Coming to Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland

New to Mickey’s Halloween Party this year will be the premium Halloween dining experience: Mystical Spirits of the Blue Bayou, according to the Disney Parks Blog. The themed three-course dinner begins at 7pm and is hosted by Dr. Facilier, who will conjure his friends from the other side and bring them to life in the restaurant.

After the dinner, guests will receive a limited-edition custom lithograph featuring art from Disney Animator Eric Goldberg and will have a special viewing area for the “Halloween Screams” fireworks.

FerryTale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise to Debut Oct. 5 at WDW

FerryTale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise is set to debut October 5 at WDW, according to the Disney Parks Blog. Guests will set sail on the Seven Seas Lagoon to watch Magic Kingdom’s Wishes Nighttime Spectacular from an exclusive viewing area and will enjoy desserts and drinks. Audio for Wishes will be piped through the boat’s soundsystem, and there will be other “magical moments.”

Guests will sail on the double-stack ferryboat from the Ticket & Transportation Ferryboat Dock one hour prior to showtime on select nights weekly. Desserts will include “The Grand” key lime tart, pineapple upside down cake from the Polynesian Village Resort, spiced flourless chocolate cake from the Contemporary Resort, “Main Street” Mickey Balloon Tarts, mini “fireworks” cupcakes with a pop, Cinderella’s Sugar Slipper with Orange Financier, no-sugar-added Florida mango panna cotta, and a fruit and cheese spread. The evening will also be toasted with specialty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in souvenir glow glasses.

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Firsts


The 20th Epcot International Food & Wine Festival promises a tasting celebration of epic proportion Sept. 25-Nov. 16, 2015, with more global marketplaces than ever and a first-time culinary collaboration with ABC’s Emmy-Award winning lifestyle series “The Chew.”

For the first time in the festival’s 20-year history, guests can sip and sample at marketplace experiences — now numbering more than 30 – in the park’s new Future World tasting areas. Festival guests also can see “The Chew” tape five shows before an Epcot audience Oct. 7-9 to air Oct. 12-16.

Disney chefs and festival programmers are whipping up a feast of surprises to celebrate the 20th annual festival in style. New wine tastings, lively parties and other culinary experiences built around the 20-year milestone will unite loyal festival fans and first-timers.

During the 53-day festival, presented by Chase and recognized by the Travel Channel as one of America’s top food festivals, Epcot will brim with epicurean discoveries:

  • The new Artistry of Wine & Cheese area will feature the Cheese Studio and Wine Studio marketplaces where premium wines will be available on tap and cheeses will be served on an “artist’s palette” as part of a wine-and-cheese pairing.
  • At the new Next Eats area near the Epcot Character Spot, Sustainable Chew Marketplace will offer guests a taste of delicious dishes inspired by “The Chew” co-hosts. At Chew Lab, food science meets the hottest culinary tech trends with dishes like the Liquid Nitro Chocolate Almond Truffle with Warm Whiskey Caramel.

  • New marketplace dishes like the Grilled Sweet and Spicy Bush Berry Shrimp (Australia), Pepper Bacon Mac ‘N Cheese (Farm Fresh) and Seared Venison Loin with Wild Mushroom Marsala Sauce (New Zealand) will tempt taste buds. The Dominican Republic Marketplace will return with fresh flair and an all-new menu with dishes that include Pescado con Coco – seared grouper, pigeon peas with rice and coconut sauce.
