Halloween is just around the corner, and the Disney parks are releasing some fun novelty drinkware and popcorn buckets to celebrate, according to the Disney Parks Blog. This Poison Apple Stein will be available with a beverage from several locations at Disneyland, while at WDW, it will be found at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
The Vampire Mickey Premium Popcorn bucket will be available in early October at popcorn carts throughout Disneyland and WDW. This year, the Zero Premium Popcorn bucket will feature a glow in the dark Zero and will be available at Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom.

On a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, I met up with a couple of friends who skipped breakfast in their excitement to get to the park. After a quick ride on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, they were ready for and early lunch. Since we were in Tomorrowland, we made our way over to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
After placing our order and receiving our food, we grabbed front row seats to be inundated with punny songs and jokes by Sonny Eclipse. One of my friends ordered the Barbecued Pork Sandwich, which comes with a choice of Apple Slices, Green Beans, or French Fries. This sandwich is fairly standard menu fare around property, and usually the top choice when pitted against a burger or nuggets for Matt. In fact, he ordered this last year, and I opted for the Green Beans with my lunch that day (which I’ll note were a bit overcooked for my liking, but still a nice choice if you’re French-fried out).
Many of you probably know that I’m a savory breakfast person. And while a Breakfast/Bounty Platter sometimes fits the bill, you know I’m always on the lookout for some of the more unique items offered on property. While scouting menus on the WDW website, I decided I would make my way over to Everything Pop at the Pop Century Resort to try their Chicken Fried Chicken with Sausage Gravy. In addition to the generous piece of chicken (it filled nearly half the plate) were two big scoops of scrambled eggs.
Sausage and Pepper Sandwich at Electric Umbrella
Happy Friday, everyone! We hope you’ve been having a great week and have a great weekend in store. This week, we stopped into Electric Umbrella at Epcot for lunch. We also visited the Grand Floridian for breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We tried the Caprese Sandwich from Landscape of Flavors at the Art of Animation Resort.

In the news, a Sunrise Safari Breakfast at the Jungle Cruise in Disneyland was announced. Also in Disneyland, the Mystical Spirits of the Blue Bayou is being added to Mickey’s Halloween Part. FerryTale Wishes: A Fireworks Dessert Cruise is coming to Walt Disney World. We took a look at some of the treats that will be sold during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Finally a bigger, 20th Anniversary edition of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival cookbook will debut this year.
Our friends have been up to some adventures as well!

I’m a big fan of a simple Caprese sandwich or salad. I’ve ordered several on WDW property throughout the years, be it from Crew’s Cup, Earl of Sandwich, Portobello… The list goes on. I’m especially appreciative of them in the summer, when, even with heartier bread when in sandwich form, they don’t necessarily leave you feeling weighed down. While making my way home from a visit to Art of Animation, I ordered their Caprese Sandwich to go. The sandwich features Vine-ripened Tomato, fresh Mozzarella, Basil Leaves, and Balsamic Drizzle on Ciabatta with House-made Chips or Coleslaw. I’ve had their coleslaw in the past, but it wasn’t a standout, so I opted for the chips.
