Kill, Refurb, Marry:
Animal Kingdom Drinks
I will say this one wasn’t quite as easy as I thought it would be, but won’t be nearly as in depth as my World Showcase Counter Service Kill, Refurb Marry. I’ll give a bit of explanation to each category as we get to them, so let’s just jump right in, shall we?
Safari Amber at Restaurantosaurus
Safari Amber. It’s not so much that I dislike the beer, and I’ll almost always order it over the Bud Light if I want a draft, but I find it hard to believe this Anheuser-Busch brew is “exclusively for Animal Kingdom.” You can also find it at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Kidani Village, as well as Refreshment Outpost at Epcot. Perhaps the name “Safari Amber” is exclusive. Let’s just say I’ve heard enough rumors (on which I won’t elaborate) to be skeptical on this, and I’ll admit I roll my eyes a little when I hear a guest told the story of this brew’s exclusivity, so let’s at least kill the story. Just because you heard it from a CM doesn’t mean it’s true. You know, like reading things on the internet. 😉

RUNNER UP: This “Signature” Bloody Mary Matt got from Tusker House. It was made over at Dawa Bar, and we were pretty much convinced it was simply Finest Call and whatever vodka they had in the well. If you’re going to use Finest Call, at least use their Loaded Bloody Mary Mix they have at Sanaa. Regardless, kill any drink with the words “Signature” and “Finest Call” in the same sentence.

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano is one of Matt’s and my favorite places to visit for a consistently delicious meal at Hollywood Studios. We have or favorite entrees there, from which we rarely stray, and this visit was no exception. We do, however, like to give a different appetizer a try (last visit we had their Crispy Calamari).
Of course, the meal started with a Disney standard bread alongside seasoned olive oil. While not extraordinary, the bread was really hitting the spot (I took a day off from no carbs – only a little over a week until I can indulge again!)!
After ordering a round of Moretti beers (no new pic – it looks like this beer) and a Bloody Mary (Matt asked for a sample of their mix and it had a good kick to it)…
…We decided on the Bresaola Salad: Thin-sliced Cured Beef, Fava Beans, Sweet peppers, Olives, Arugula, Basil, Lemon, and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Kouzzina by Cat Cora at BoardWalk Inn is a restaurant at which I’ve only experienced breakfast. While I didn’t review my first visit (where I enjoyed Spinach, Tomato, and Feta Scrambled Eggs along with Sangria and Matt ordered sides and a Bloody Mary), I enjoyed it enough to return before heading to Epcot for the day. The dining room is simple yet elegant, and you can hear the chefs working away in the open kitchen.
Wooden chairs and tables are adorned with no-fuss place settings and condiments.
I decided to order the Breakfast Skillet, which is served with eggs, Pequillo peppers, Nueske’s bacon (the same delicious bacon found at The Wave), onions, and Greek cheese on Sweet potato hash and topped with arugula ($13.99). When the dish came out, I couldn’t believe the size of it! there was easily enough here for two people.
