2014 Food & Wine: Brewer’s Collection

Matt and I enjoy beer, but here on Eating WDW, we’re not big on beer reviews. The folks at Beers and Ears have you covered on that front. Trust me, if we were to review beers, we wouldn’t get many repeat visitors, because the reviews would be very succinct. Thank goodness we can pair most drinks with food here!

As many of you probably already know, some big changes appeared at this year’s Food & Wine Festival, primarily with the fact that 12oz and 22oz beers are no longer options at the kiosks. Brewer’s Collection was not immune to this change either, and all beers are 6oz pours (though you may get closer to the 7oz capacity depending on Cast Member). Some beer selections have been swapped out, and the price of the Bier Flights has shrunk from $13 to $9.25. Of course, the beer sizes in said flight have shrunk as well from 6oz to 4oz.

New to the flights include Radeberger Pilsner, BraufactuM Colonia, BraufactuM Palor, BraufactuM Roog, BraufactuM Darkon, BraufactuM Progusta IPA, Schofferhofer Grapefruit, and Altenmunster Oktoberfest. BraufactuM Colonia and BraufactuM Progusta IPA replace BraufactuM Verum and BraufactuM Dunkel. Note that there are no numbers on the trays relating to the specific beers as there were last year.

2013 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival: Brewer’s Collection

We’re big fans of beer here at Eating WDW, so a stop by Brewer’s Collection during the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is usually in play. While this post isn’t necessarily reviewing the beers (it can be even more polar than food!), it is to talk about the new “system” that they have for delivering the beers, and why we’ve become fans of the Beer Flights.

This past spring, at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, we stopped by The Smokehouse Barbecue and Brews to sample the food and order a beer flight. Yes, even a few months ago, the beers were served in a simple cardboard tray. Fast forward a few months, and now we have a handy numbered compass in the middle of said tray, along with a card with the beer names! This new system makes it easier on Cast Members and guests alike, expediting the lines and having a quick reference so one does not have to remember which beer is where.
