With its December opening approaching, the Disney Parks Blog is keeping us informed about the restaurant along the way. Today, they posted images of the “Lakeside Casual” attire cast members serving will be wearing, designed by Walt Disney Imagineer Celina Lung. She’s been a Disney costume designer for nearly 20 years.
With her inspirations coming from the restaurant’s interior and and location next to Crescent Lake, she notes the attire is “charming, casual, and a little upscale.”
Burgundy tops with gold contrast are reminiscent of the restaurant’s color palette for decor. The look is finished with a leather belt with an antique brass buckle. Colder months will see a relaxed tweed jacket and bistro aprons.
I’m looking forward to seeing the interior of the restaurant, but this gives us some insight into the color scheme and overall feel we can expect from Trattoria al Forno. I know some friends I’ve talked to are bummed about the restaurant being “just another Italian restaurant,” and I understand with how many cuisines are lacking or underrepresented at WDW. Hopefully this restaurant can wow us, as there are some discerning palates out there, especially when it comes to Italian food!
Ah, the ill fitted khaki, a restaurant classic!
Ha! Pleats? Check! Tapered leg? Check! 😀
